Introduction
Your organisation may require you to create, or set up, a Security Word with the EASY System. You may then be prompted to provide 3 random characters from your security word when you log into EASY, or when you perform other actions within the system.
This article explains the screen that you now see in EASY, and the steps involved in setting up your security word.
Creating a Security Word
It is sometimes better to think of the security word as a memorable word. The security word needs to be a combination of at least 6 letters and number, so you will want choose a security (memorable) word that you can easily remember. For example, the registration number of your first car, or memorable date. As it is a security word, you should keep it to yourself and not disclose it to anyone.
Follow the steps below to create your security (memorable) word.
1. In EASY, you will be presented with a screen similar to the one shown below. Enter your chosen security (memorable) word in the Security Word and Retype your Security Word fields, these are the top 2 fields.
2. Now enter your password in the Password field, and then click on the
button. You should enter the password you use to log into EASY, or the one that you may have just set up.
3. If your chosen security (memorable) word is one that is commonly used in passwords or as a memorable word, an error icon will appear next to the Security Word field. When you hover your mouse pointer over the error icon, an error message saying "very commonly used" will be displayed.
In this situation, you will need to choose a different security (memorable) word and enter it in the Security Word and Retype Security Word fields before clicking on the
button.4. When the system has accepted your security (memorable) word, you will be taken to another page in EASY, which will vary according to your circumstances.
Forgotten your Security Word
If you have forgotten your security (memorable) word, you will need to contact your local system support team who will need to apply a setting on your user account. The next time you log into the EASY system, you will be required to create a new security (memorable) word by following the steps in the Creating a Security Word section above.
