Introduction
When accessing the EASY system from outside of the NHS network, such as your home or some other location, you may see the screen below asking you authorise access from the device you are using. This screen is used as an additional security measure to confirm that it is you that is accessing the system, which you will do by entering three characters from your security word.
Authorising a Device
Before authorising a device, you need to consider whether you will be accessing the EASY System from that device just on that one occasion or on a regular basis.
One Time Authorisation
There may be times when you are somewhere, such as a hotel for a conference, where you want access the EASY system, but you won't need to access the system from that device again. To only authorise that device for the time that you are logged into EASY, you will need to click on the field until a tick appears in the box.
Using a Device Regularly
If you will be accessing the EASY system on a regular basis from a location, such as from home, do not click on the
field. That way the next time you access the system from that location, you won't be asked to verify that location again.
Authorising
After deciding you will be accessing the system from that location just on that one occasion or on a regular basis, you then need to click on the Authorise button.
When you click on the Authorise button the following screen will appear for you to confirm that you wish to access the EASY System from that device.
To complete the authorisation process, enter the three characters requested from your security word (not your password) and click on the Authorise button. The system will send you an email advising that the device has been authorised for your user account.
The email you receive will be similar to the one below
Hello Jane,
Your EASY account was recently accessed from a new device (IP address 12.34.56.234). This access was authorised with your security word for a single login session only.
If you did not authorise this access please contact a system administrator immediately.
Regards, EASY.
